Mount Traverse Road, Imbil State Forest, Queensland

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

The forests in this area of Imbil State Forest are now in the custodianship of Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (Department of Environment and Resource Management) since the sale of forest plantations as part of the assets selloff by the Queensland Government.

This particular area has previously been logged so the existing trees are not as big as they will become. The species include Eucalyptus grandis (tall white barked trees in background), E. cloeziana, E. pilularis, E. acmenoides along with an understorey of rainforest species.

Another nice picture of this great forest Ian. Greetings Berend

The paragraph of information I have now provided identifies the main tree species, Berend, and they are each great trees that each produce excellent timber. There is an apiarist who has a licence to operate his hives in this area because these trees are excellent for honey production.
