Hi Tom, wouldn't it be nice if our bits and bytes (photos) were still around in 1,000 years from now. I think these are probably more permanent. Great photos, Best Wishes, Greg.
Hi Greg, I don't hope so... (thus, what the hell I am doing here? Wasting my time?)
Let's enjoy all advantages and disadvantages of modern times!
We saw similar ones further uo North in Sweden...
Great and impresive, isn't it??
We also saw realy large, meters long, carvings unpainted carvings at the south side of Narvik bay in Norway.. whales, deers... so lovely!
Really impressive. This is well preserved. Thank you, Thomas.
Hi Patricia, it must be pleasure to find such a things (specially if it was on your own - outside protected heritage site?) and not "improved" for tourists. One meter long... wow!
Hi Anatoly, it's amazing how the carving style is similar to those carvings in Alta, about 1500 km to the North...
Is it the ocher paint?
Hi IPAAT, I am not sure about question... colour of painting is red. A kind of clay? But is seems not to be original - outlines of carving were "refreshed", I think...
Yes, Tom, I'm talking about the kind of mineral paint. I thought it was ocher.
