Nice one, Kevin. Every time I come to a bridge while hiking (and I have come upon quite a few recently) I think about taking a picture. I haven't been able to figure out a good shot, but I haven't tried stepping out into the cold water. Is that what you did here? Looks that way!

Love the muted color KEV. Great mood shot here. LIKE.... VANN

Almost, kenfowkes. There was a huge wedge-shaped rock about 6 feet tall that protruded into the river bed. I laid across the apex of that rock to get the angle across the river bank and still use the trees to frame the left side of the bridge. This particular bridge provided several great angles to shoot from ... you will probably see it again. :)

Thanks a bunch, Vann, and good to hear from you. The colors here are a play on white balance (pushed it to warmer) and everything else fell into place. I'm glad you like it!

Hello Kevin, I also like this picture, especially the colors tone. It radiates very good mood. Like warm and calm. Really very nice! My best regards, Radek

Terrific set Kevin. Each one is as good or better than the last.

Hello, Radek and KC. Thanks to you both for the visit and comment. I hope all is well.

Instant fav Kevin, what a glorious shot. No trouble adjusting to the D600 it seems! Did you lose the EXIF in the editing, or do fancy cams like that no longer support EXIF..

Kevin Childress on January 31, 2013

Thank you, Jeroen ... an instant fav of mine too. I honestly can't say what I did to the EXIF here - that's odd. But I won't blame in on the D600. But we'll never know because the D600 is on its way back to New York. :(

Jeroen Verburg on January 31, 2013

I'm actually more curious about what you did to the light than what you did to the EXIF :) I can't figure out how you got sucj great light under those trees in midwinter. But now you also made me curious about the camera. Is it broken already, or did you not like it?

I get a deep forest mood when I look at this one. Good capture! The mood is a bit what we in Norway call "trollsk" (troll like, like a place you can encounter trolls in the forest, in mystical and dark places)

Erik van den Ham on February 14, 2013

Great mood on this one Kevin is this a HDR or Pseudo HDR? It certainly looks a bit like that but very subtle. I've been looking in every corner here if I could find the Elf's but they must blend in perfectly. As they were nowhere to be found. YSL

Best regards, Erik

I didn't comment on the wonderful light, but I did notice the magical mood it creates. Suits the scene beautifully. I'll keep listening in here in case more secrets are shared!
