The Ponderosa Pine forests below the Mogollon Rim rise again to 7,770 feet above sea level. The name comes from Don Juan Ignacio Flores Mogollón the Spanish Governor of New Mexico from 1712-1715 and is home of the Mogollon Monster, most often reported to be Bigfoot.
