I have never seen a sea like that...only in pictures much further north! Good to see the larger picture and yes, she does blend well! Like. Regards, Rosa.

It's not even a sea (anymore)Rosa but a lake. This is called the IJsselmeer (Lake IJssel)(at the info there is the story about this lake).

She really blended in very well for a moment I even thought she had left when suddenly she was back again. She must have been there but I didn't notice.

Cool wishes, Erik

Suzi in Oregon on January 31, 2013

A wonderful series, Erik - I especially like this one - wish that was me taking photos - someone would have to drag me away before I froze into a rock. I am fascinated by the ice formations, the windmills, the sky color, the immense size of this lake. Thank you (O:

Good morning from the Netherlands Suzi. This phenomenon can only been seen after some serious freezing. After the frosts has gone wind and waves need to break the ice and blow it to land. Lots of people have the same problem I guess when taking pictures of this. I was on my way to work as I stopped here and believe me I was almost four hours late ;-).

We were lucky as this doesn't happen every year but there was even more drift ice last year.

Sometimes the piles of are pushed up very high and threaten to destroy dikes and buildings. Thanks a lot for your kind comment and visit it's always a pleasure to read them.

Cool wishes, Erik

Schitterende opname van het meisje en het kruiende ijs Erik. Groeten Berend

Erik van den Ham on January 31, 2013

Groeten, Erik
