Hi Kenny, its not often you get to see these birds close up, they're usually flitting about in the tops of pine trees. You obviously are authorised to handle them so is it a ringing programme you are doing. Its a lovely shot of what i think is our smallest bird.

Yes its a ringing programme but they just use our woodland, I don't do any handling.

I have tried for ages to get a photo in the wild but, as you say, they flit about too much. They dont come down to the bird feeders but they do pick about in the pines next to the feeding station. I have tried following them with the camera and picking a spot and waiting for them to come into the viewfinder... everything results in a photo of a branch with nothing on it!!!
