Marie Curtis Park, January in Mississauga

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Marie Curtis Park, at the terminus of Etobicoke Creek, is undergoing some changes. ($8 million worth) Construction crews left this pattern on the hard frozen ground. (-20C that day!)

This park is in firm control of Canada Geese, which make finding of piece of clean grass area for picnic nearly impossible. Hope that the some of the $8 millions will be spend wisely on geese birth control.

We had the same problem with flying foxes, in our Botanical Gardens, Tom. As well as there mess and stench, they were slowly destroying 100 year old trees. The fight between 'save the trees' & 'save the flying foxes' was interesting to watch. The trees won...the bats were becoming a real Heath problem.

After all that... It's a great shot!

Cheers, David.

(Alas, no shots of trains)

There is not really fight in pro geese and contra geese. The goose will survive no matter what.

The cormorans (not native) is even bigger problem.

There were no cormorans 30 years ago, not they take over. One day, I will take a ride to the east end, where they have the highest concentration and take some photos.
