This is at Shapwick Heath where one million starlings come to roost. I was too early to see their full 'murmurations' as I think they call it, but to see and hear them preparing to roost was amazing..

Wonderful scene & capture, except I don't like starlings very much! :-) Like

Thank you very much for L&F Klaus. It really is a wonderful spectacle to see. Nature at its best. Best wishes to you, Rosa.

Thank you Marlene. I wonder if any other birds do this! I wish I could have stayed longer to see the patterns they make just before settling. Best wishes, Rosa.

Well seen and taken, Rosa. I like it. Greetings, Ildikó

Ildikó A., they moved so fast that it was difficult to get a good picture, so I thought I would concentrate on the sky!

Best wishes to you, Rosa.

The noise is almost as impressive as the incredible movements in the sky. About ten years ago a flock decided to roost in the hedges behind my place, even with the windows shut I could hear them. They hav'nt returned, which is such a shame.

I was a little too early to see their best movements. I wish I could have stayed longer. To see them outside your house must have been fantastic, it's a noise I wouldn't mind!
