I felt a lot of things when I looked at your picture. First I got a feeling of harmony with these blue and grey patchwork, then I felt sadness because of the boy's face and also because of these grids which might mean that this family has to fear something from behind. But maybe this day was a day of feast... because of the flags...
I love this kind of "story telling" picture.
A big like from France and I add you to my favorites photographers ;-)

I remember that the boy was looking at a fountain in the middle of the square that was under his house. That square is a central square in The Old City, so many people and tourists pass by. Also I think that at this part of The Old City there are no jewish people living, or almost nun. So I asume thats why there are flags. Good observation Jice, and thanks for your nice comment.
