Nice little house this one. Pity it was all locked up when we were there. They built them solid back then...
Such a interesting place to visit our goldfields....
Did you find gold as well as this house Lex??
No gold found Gary, but I went back a month later with a fancy detector and found........... sunburn :(
Hmm. Maybe it's a message, to stick with the camera. You can't be doing both at once, and I am sure I'm not the only one who would miss your pics if you went off too long, chasing the yellow stuff!
Thanks C, I don't want to get the yellow fever and end up dissapearing like so many other prospectors in the Goldfields....
Looks in good nick that one. VNPL. I have a mate who's found a few tiny nuggets. But he's given it away now. Pretty good indicator of the work/results equation.
The prospectors I spoke with in Menzies all looking terribly grizzled said they only found enough gold to cover costs and never made enough money to quit prospecting and move to comfortable digs near the ocean... By the looks of them they were telling the truth... very withered individuals...
How can you NOT like Goongarrie.... ?
Exactly Stuart!!, but on the whole I would prefer to poke around the goldfields ghost town of Burtville!. Far more interesting and left as if the last resident had just left a few years ago... No Govt sanitizing & getting it safe for the masses just ruins, dirt and debris... I love debris... fascinating stuff!!......
Or how about the bus depot at Bulong...debris galore :-))
Does this have something to do with our heritage???
Ohh, Ive never found the bus depot at Bulong... :(
Opposite Hungry Jacks & next door to Retravision...? :))
