The first Granada Cinema (second was in Walthamstow) was opened by Sidney and Cecil Bernstein on January 8th, 1930.

The interior was designed by Theodore Komisarjevsky who set the auditorium in a Moorish style and the foyer in that of Louis XV.

It became the ABC Cinema in 1960 and finally closed on the 30th of October 1982.

Later, the art deco building became Images Nightclub and then Snoops Nightclub. It now stands derelict and is currently owned by J D Wetherspoons. See:

Below Henry II's Keep (or Great Tower) is the Inner Curtain Wall and then the Western Outer Curtain Wall with Constable's Gateway and Peverell's Gateway. Dover Castle is a Listed Building, English Heritage site, and Scheduled Ancient Monument (see other tags on the right).

A classic view:

A favourite tower:

If the owner of the Mercedes with number plate KY04 VMJ ever sees this photo and would like a large-size copy (without the watermark) then send me an email and I'll be happy to oblige:

UK Car and Vehicle number plates starting with DVLA registration letters "KY04V" were registered in Northampton in year 2004/2005 between 1st March 2004 and 31st August 2004.

There, bet you didn't know that, didya? :)
