Ainars It's a sport you can see only in Switzerland (and rarely in South Africa, I guess). The idea of the game is similar to the american baseball. There is a "pitcher" (in front of the green wall) who clubs/hits the "Nouss" (this is a ball with the size and shape of an ice hockey puck) in the field, where the other team tries to catch it with the "Schindel" (this tools who looks like shovels).

Every day we learn something new! :) Seems to be enough attractive game, but I wonder why no one wear helmets? It looks very dangerous moments specially when "shovels" are thrown up!

Hornussen, ist eine Gesellschafts und Einzelspiel 2 Manschaften spielen abwechselnd gegeneinender Der Nouss ist aus Hartgummi ca 60G schwer wird mittels Stock aus Fiberglas 2.5m lang über den Bock in das Ries geschlagen. Vom Bock aus nach 100m ist das Ries 200m lang/ 10m breit. Ab 100m Schlaglänge gilt immer 10m länger 1 Punkt d.h ab m 100 jeweils 10m weiter - 1 punkt mehr gezählt wird zwischen 100 und 300 m Distanz vom Bock entfernt. z.B. 50m ab 100m - 5 Punkte, 200m 20 Punkte. Fällt der Nouss aber innerhalb des Ries auf den Boden, gibt das eine Nummer.In diesem Spiel versuchen beide Mannschaften möglichst wenig Nummern einzufangen. UNd der Einzelspieler möglichst weite Streiche mit möglichst viel Punkte zu sammeln.
