Salut Andre! Je suis en train d'aller au Japon et je pensait de visiter ce place. What do you think about Naraijuku? Do you advice me that place?

I sure do advice you to visit this small old post town. There is only one street but it is worth visiting. You should try to reach Naraijuku during the afternoon, spend the night in one of the several lodgings (http://www.oyado-iseya.jp/)and after a very early morning stroll in the deserted street, leave Naraijuku to visit two other similar but more "commercial" villages of Tsumago and Magome.

Now should you be there Saturday the 25th of october, between 11:00 and 13:00, and see a Corsican looking, tall, nice, elegant, intellectual but a bald and shiny head, just ask if the name is André. The answer will most probably be YES. If the answer is NO, the man is a liar. There can be only one Corsican looking, tall, nice, elegant, intellectual with a shiny bald head in this village at those hours.

I wish you the most pleasant trip during the most beautiful season of the year.

Pace e Salute, André

Thank you dearDainipponjin for your information and advice.

I suspected that the comment was not really nice towards the Japanese people but as I was not very sure I decided to treat it as friendly. I can read most of the japanese characters and that helps me to understand a little of Chinese writings but it is not enough to appreciate the signification of a full sentence.

I did delete the comment that was offensing and I hope that it will not happen again. I strongly believe Panoramio is not a place to express such feelings.

From your grateful Corsicajin.

Dear Corsicajin

Thank you very much. I also hope so.

By the way, you can read Japanese!? It greatly helped you to travel around Japan. Most Japanese people aren't good at foreign language... I've not visited there, but this place is familiar to Japanese who are interested in history. I'm very happy that you enjoyed traveling.

BEST REGARDS

Dear dainipponjin, thank you very much for your kind words.

Yes, I can read enough of Japanese characters to truly enjoy my life and my travels in Japan. And it helps a lot to understand the soul of the Japanese people. I sincerely hope that one day in the near future you will be able to visit those islands.

Warmest greetings from Japan.

Dear Corsicajin

I live in Japan, but haven't been to "Naraijuku". Sorry, I seem to have misled you.

Dear Dainipponjin, I did tink for a moment that may be you were a Japanese... But I could not be sure. Looking at your photos of Sri lnaka and some of Kusatsu and Shimane, and knowing that you could read and write chinese characters, I did believe you were a foreigner. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

But again, with such a pen name as dainipponjin I should have known.

ごめんなさい。
