Once Was...a mighty River

The Blackwood River at Newgalup. Imagine this in full flood!! Imagine it fresh and surrounded by bush and full of fish and crustaceans! Wouldn't that be nice.

Beautiful, and not a cloud! When the season changes rain will restore it, right? L Best wishes, Carter

Hi Carolinefrom the Group A1-Unique Australia. I wished they had left our Rivers alone. But I think the Blackwood River is not in danger, or is he? L. Regards Ebi

It will get more water in it again when the rains come, Carter, but it is salty now, due to too much clearing, it is not a healthy river at all, Ebi :(

..and imagine the indigenous folk sauntering down to catch a feed of fish, crustaceans or waterbirds. What a trauma it must be to the old people when they see what has happened to their river. There must have been a better way to tend the river as we used the surrounding land. Tch tch..There are ways to bring it back, but nobody wants to start.
