Bonjour Dominique. I often refer to this bridge as 'a bridge over the River Seine'. It looks attractive but isn't working well for this river flows very very fast in flood, and the bridge has increased the turbulence in the river, and stream bank erosion is severe just downstream.

However it is a beautiful area.

Yes Berend, the flood has gone, but this is a minor flood on 19 February that followed the big one of 27 January. Basic repairs to the bridge have been made between the two floods, but there still is more repair work to be done. Other bridges in the district did not fare as well as this one, this time.

This bridge replaced another bridge that was washed away here in 1999.
