But you'll never believe what I stumbled upon yesterday at the Big Box electronics store.....The new SX10, the next generation of our little S3/S5's...20x zoom!!...super macros with readings to tell you the distance its focusing on...threaded lens so it doesn't need the silly plastic extender for a filter.. a setting that seems like the 'D-lighting on the Nikon - a tiny bit of in-camera hdr...reconfigured controls that aren't those stupid easy to hit buttons (I kept trying to see what ISO it was set at, and couldn't easily make it change even when I tried!)...a review by a professional photographer who said the ISO only started to show grain at about 800....a 20x zoom!.....omg.
Seems next summer there'll be a version with the better CMOS type of sensor available here in North America, so I'll try to resist til then. BUT...wow. a 20x zoom.... (plus I got home and the washing machine broke, so I'm saved, at least for a little bit. )
