Alport Castles is probably one of the most spectacular landscape features in the Peak District. Reputed to be the largest natural landslip in the UK, it shows the powerful forces of nature at work here in this dramatic location.
Hi Peter, allway's been meaning to do this walk, and after seeing these photo's it's on my list this year. some great shot's. cheer's Bill. /like
This was on cold day in October 1990, not a good day for photos.
If I remember the wind was as at present, from the East, going right through you. It was fortunate we had the old wall to have get out of it for our lunch!
All the best Peter
As you have seen i did this walk in 2013, it was one of the hottest days of the year, the complete opposite to your visit all them years ago. was up on the moors most of the day. all the very best, Bill.
