World famous surfing location Shipstern Bluff, known for its gigantic waves that jump out of deep water and crash on the rocks in front that dare devil surfers ride for thrills and spills. See this video for some awesome footage of surfers on this wave. Make sure you expand the video to fill your screen. By the way the first 35 secs of the movie is of a point surf close to Hobart and is not of Shipstern Bluff.

Hard walk to this point Marion and even harder getting down to the bluff itself. All up hill to get back to here if you go. A mate knows an easier way in and one day I'll take that route for sure. The waves on the point this day were well over head but its difficult to judge from this far away.
