Two groups of young men were enjoying a game of cards, in what was once the entrance hall of the Ministry of Finance Building. The building was a Provincial Government building during the time of Indonesian rule, but was arsoned, allegedly by Indonesia as part of its militarised and reluctant withdrawal. So many ironies.

The boys welcomed me, though my local companions were rather wary.

Never a dram is only a dream. Card games are very rooted all over the world bringing out lots of emotions. You should see the moroccans playing domino, yelling, laughing and weird looking or watch the tibetan refugees in Dharamsala playing the games they used to play in th jails of China. Your pic brought me good memories. znks

I love the way you appreciate humanity and its many expressions, Gondor. Thanks too for sharing your memories of Tibet and Morrocco.
