This small iron bridge is a part of the Memphis River-walk parks, It's shaded by one of the oldest tree in downtown. (150 year old oak) Obviously originally designed with lamps for night use, present day Memphis may not be the safest after dark.
I personally felt quite safe in this city day and night. The pan handlers are some of the most polite and skilled story tellers, you ever meet on the street.
How do you get to the other side? You just get about 50 meters back and get mugged there....;-)
The tree is not shown, as I did not know at the time that it is anything special. It was saved from being cut down in the 60's, when the area was re-developed.
