Rostov is a town in Yaroslavl region, Russia, one of the oldest in the country and a tourist center of so called Golden Ring of Russia. It is located on the shores of The Lake Nero, 202 kilometers northeast of Moscow.
First mentioned in the year 862 as an already important settlement, by the 13th century Rostov became the capital city of one of the most prominent Russian principalities. In 2012 Rostov celebrated it's 1150-th anniversary. This photo shows the view to the city kremlin (citadel) from The Nero Lake.
