A Dovestones Reservoir Vista.

Not selected for Google Earth or Google Maps [?]

People who know my gallery and photographs might recognise various sights on here. Now for the first time you can see almost the full area of my many photographic walks. To the right of here is the start of the 'Chew Valley'. Behind this reservoir in the distance are another two reservoirs. The hill to the left is 'Pots & Pans'. Central right in the triangular field is my lone 'harmony tree'. The whole high area is our 'Saddleworth Moors'. Enjoy!

Once again you are a first person to one of my photo's Joli. As always, much appreciated, especially your grand awards.

Beautiful photo.

Best wishes.

In two words, simply gorgeous. Those warm colours of a late sun, make this rustic vista stunning, and the 'letter-box' effect is just perfect!

I have driven past Saddleworth Moors quite a few times, but never realized its hidden beauty.

A sure-fire Fav+Lk, - David.

Hafeezmj , nice to see you again. Always good when you *like my pictures.

David, once again your comment makes me sit up and study the picture. When I took this last week, I thought it was quite nice. The soft natural lighting, in my opinion, gives it an old-fashioned look that is sadly missing from many of today's Panoramio and Flickr photo's. Yes, a wonderful area that many of the locals simply do not recognise and appreciate fully. Maybe we will bump into each other, up there, one day David :) Thanks for the YSL.

Best wishes to you all, Herb

Another not selected for GE. Why??? Its a great photo Love it cheers Gary.

Herb Riddle on March 17, 2013

Snemann, great to see you again. More than happy to share this local scene with you even if GE does not want to! Must remind you a bit of Norway too.

Gary, glad you too enjoy this one. I can be pretty sure that this like my 'Aphrodite's Rock' picture suffers the penalty of having too wide a border. Ah well, their loss perhaps!

Regards to you both, Herb
