You Yanks sure do love a parade... Not that us Aussies dont but you never see massive parades in any of our films, movies, culture like you do in American life..... Oh, nice photo BTW! :-)

Too bad, it is a good reason to get out and eat Corndogs and Turkey Legs. :-))

We have two annual Festivals here. The Dogwood Trails Festival and Parade to Celebrate the Dogwoods and Azaleas, and Redbuds that put on a show right now in the Spring, and in the Fall we have the Hot Pepper Festival and Parade. We also have a Mardigras Parade and a Christmas Parade held at sundown so everyone can decorate thier entrys with Christmas Lights.

Its been a couple of years since I toured the USA, loved every minute of it too.... except NASA postponing a shuttle lauch that I was there to see.. :)

Hate that that happened, and now there are no more to see. I always wanted to witness a launch in person. They have all been retired and distributed to various towns and museums around the country. Sadly we did not get one here in Texas, even though Mission Control is here. :-/

Yes, we here in Westoz don't parade much, rather have regional agricultural shows, vintage car rallies and 'round the streets' races of old machinery. But you can't beat a good parade..

Henry Scoggin on March 18, 2013

Local racing would be cool!

jockswa on March 19, 2013

Henry, the sound of those old machines is pure music! Don't think they care who wins so much. It's just getting out there and showing your style. Used to be serious racing thirty years ago tho.
