*The Lucas-Davey House*

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Construction on this house begane in 1892. Restoration, if I remember right, was started back in the 80's and never finished. This place is quickly falling into a sad state of disrepair. It is, or was, one of the more ornate houses in Palestine, I hope we don't loose it.

Hi Henry, it is most certainly a great house, to bad if it goes to waste, L the picture!

It could really be a show place Jos. I don't know why the restoration was never completed, but there is stuff just piled around the outside of the house on the porches and has been like that for years. I suspect the inside is in a similar condition. :-/

These homes all have a similarity to them.. Of course so do ours I guess. Different eras produced the same designs... However this one looks like it comes right out of the Wizard of Oz..

It does have a very busy exterior doesn't it. :-) By the way, the Green and Red paint scheme that they had started back with is the historicly correct original colors.

This one's way over the top.. but I still love it. Looks like something out of Disneyland..or is it the other way around? You'd have to assume all the owners were competing for the most - if not outrageous - in yer face design. "I'm just that bit richer than you pal!"

It's all a top-notch tourist attraction. This place must be preserved.
