Thanks Der weisse wolf for the comment. This Maison Carrée (square house) in Nimes was a Roman temple, and, as you know, roman styles were similar to greek classical ones. There are similar buildings in other places of southern France, as the same as in Italy and Spain and other mediterranean countries that were part of Roman Empire.
