Another good vantage point and composition, Jim.

The newer construction in your photo at least seems to retain some of the charm and style of the older port architecture. As always, the newer stuff has to pass muster with tradition, but I've seen much worse, not just here in the States. Even though growth and change are inevitable, that's no justification for some of the cheap monstrosities going up with no regard for the surroundings. It's good that your tight planning restrictions are in place. It's still an area I would love to see. Best to you, alicia

Jim Evans (AXOTA) on April 6, 2010

There are many more photos of Whitby in my gallery that are as comment worthy as this one Fred ;>)

So I wonder why you open an account in Panoramio with no photos to make your only comment on WhiteHall Landing????? how odd!!

Nice perspective. And neat architecture :)

Jim Evans (AXOTA) on March 3, 2014

Helaq~~~Greetings and welcome to my gallery..This housing development is quite recent, but the architects were under pressure to design structures in keeping with surrounding designs, some of which were centuries old. I'm sure that your comments will be appreciated locally!

Thanks for the complimentary remarks!
