Greetings Mary Alice, What a wonderful photograph of the duck. You can even see the band on his leg. You must be very patient to wait for the shot. And you are very skilled to pan with the duck as he came in. Nice job.

Thank you, Green Irish Eagle, Peter C. Byron, Karen ( Nuclear Girl!), Richard Ryer, Markus Rogawski, and FRED!
This particular duck is one of my favorite subjects to photograph, as he's always up to something amusing. I think he's on to me! He seems to love getting my attention and showing off in front of the lens.
Peter, Do you really think Howard would be proud? ;) It was a one off shot, and not part of a multi shot frame. I sit and wait for these moments for hours at a time, and I am most happy doing so.
Richard, I certainly appreciate your kind words. You pay special attention to details, and I thank you so much. He has been wearing that little silver band since he flew in years ago, but I've never gotten close enough to actually read it.
Karen, thank you so much for your praise! I'm so happy that you like the photograph, and thank you for stopping by. Please come again! :)
Markus, I remember the shot you are referring to, and that's an interesting comparison. I agree with you completely. :)
Fred, please forgive my delay, as I was just temporarily overwhelmed with comments and lost track of what I was doing. I sure do appreciate your kind comments though, and I hope you'll come by to visit again. :)
The 'SPRUCE GOOSE'! Yes, Green Irish one..... He is indeed a very SPRUCE boy! :) Thank you for your praise!
Thank you all again for your kindness. You make me very happy.
Sincerely,
Mary Alice

Greetings to you, my friend! :)
I'm so happy that you stopped by! I don't know how you missed the DUCK shot! How could you possibly miss something like this? ;) I'm kidding! I'm glad that you like it though. Thank you very much!
I do love my ducks, and I'm glad that it shows through my photos. I would like to think that they reciprocate as well, but it may just be my imagination. ;)
A self portrait? Well, as I see it, there is no more room on Billy's wall. What a shame. :(
Maybe I will get brave and put one up eventually. I'll give it some thought, but only because you asked, H.P.
I hope you're having a nice evening. We just back in from eating some late night mexican, and it is pouring rain. It's suppose to continue with rain all day tomorrow as well. :(
Anyway, thanks again for your happy visit, and sweet dreams to you tonight.

The weekend turned to grief when a family of Ducks turned up at the Boatyard demanding political asylum. US Ducks apparently have become victims of their own success in certain States where the indeginous population has been entirely subjugated by local Ducks.

I would NEVER avoid you, HAPPY PAUL! How dare you even ask such. It's just that I've had company most all weekend, and not much time to play on here. It seems that the Mini has a horrible oil leak too, and everyone has been out here offering up suggestions. It's in a million pieces in the garage as we speak, so I will be driving the JEEP to work tomorrow. Poor little Mini. It is quite sad. It seems that maybe it's coming from some seals near the oil cooler tank(?) We will find out more tomorrow as my boyfriend is driving an hour or so to the nearest Mini dealer to see about the seals. Have you ever had trouble with anything similar on yours? It had a full 5 quarts on Thursday, and by Friday evening, NOTHING! :(
Must go to bed now, but please NEVER think that I would ever avoid you, Happy Paul! Never!
YELLOW BREASTED ROBIN made a wonderful suggestion though .... if you were a duck, I would be ever so delighted to photograph you in flight! :)
Greetings & goodnight to you both,
Merry Alicia

Coal Miner's Boy, on April 27, said:
Unfortunately, Sort of Sad Mary Alice (because your MINI has problems) our Mini and your MINI share only the name. They have absolutely NO parts in common.
It would seem they do share one foible in common - they both like to leak oil, although ours only loses a few drops here and there; nothing like the loss you've seen.
The best organization to diagnose your MINI is the dealer, although they will almost certainly be the most expensive to repair it too!
Sorry you're suffering from car troubles, but happy that you and I are still DPP's - that's Distant Personal Pals:)

We ate at Carrabba's Italian grill and spent a few hours playing in a huge new "Barnes & Noble" that opened about an hour away from here. It's one of the best ones I've been in yet.
