Thank you SO much for stopping by today! I'm delighted to see you.
Yes, the ducks always win because at any given time, they can just take off & fly. :)
Thank you very kindly for the gold star. I am honored.
Enjoy your day,
Mary Alice

Wise choice, my friend! The duck never gets tired! I think he could tease the dogs all day long. He likes to stay just a teeny tiny bit in front, just to hold the dog's interest. They are comical creatures indeed!
Thank you for your visit. :)

Love the pic. Is the duck in any danger? I can't imagine the beast would just give it a playful lick if he got hold of it. Rob

I can assure you, Robert, Greg Jr. was in no danger at all. Dave tires out way faster than Greg any day, and at any given moment, Greg just hops up and flies to the other side of the pond! He's just a super big tease! :) They play this little game constantly.
Enjoy your day!

Greg jnr eh? Is he a family pet too? Who is Dave named after? It seems like a persons name more than a dogs. What's the other fella called? Have you any other family pets? Rob
MaryAlice, on April 3, said:
Robert:
Indeed, Greg Jr. is a long time family pet! He flew in many years ago from who knows where, and has been here ever since. He has a strange silver band around his leg, but I've never been close enough to actually read it. Someone was tracking his whereabouts, but I guess they lost him at some point. I'm glad that he chose to live with us! :) He's a very cool duck!
Dave got his name from the exalted David J. Matthews, aka, DAVE MATTHEWS! Are you a fan? Dave ( the dog) has had many years of schooling and is smarter than many of the people I know! ;) I also show him often in dog shows and trials throughout our area. He's a wonderful, loyal companion, despite his scary appearance, and he wouldn't hurt a flea unless I asked him to.
The big black and white doggie is Suzi. She is an American Bulldog who is just a year old now. She's the sweetest girl ever, and trying every day to be as smart as her big brother. She's got a long way to go, but she's learning quickly and eagerly.
I also have a very large, fat cat named Casper, but more commonly called just "C". There are four other ducks on the lake as well, but Greg and the girl duck, Dharma, are my favorites!
I love animals, if you haven't noticed. Do you have any?

Greetings Mary Alice, It is amazing the duck will let the dog swim that close. What a nice picture.

Richard,
Greg ( the duck) is a huge tease! He likes to try to see how close Dave ( the dog) can get before he flies away at the last minute! It's just a big game to them.
Needless to say, Greg always wins! :)
Thank you very kindly for your praise.

It is very funny to see a dog racing with a duck. Maybe the dog wants a bite and the duck will not let that happen. Unusual couple. Nice photo. Rgds, Jan

I'm so happy to amuse you with this little 'Race' of sorts! :) It's a sight that we have grown very accustomed to seeing, as they do this same routine every time they get a chance! It serves for great subject matter and I certainly enjoy photographing them, so we let them carry on! As long as no one gets hurt, it's all fun & games! :)
Thanks again for your many wonderful visits! It's been my pleasure having you here!
