Thanks a lot Luud.
This is the (Church of Our Lady) where the Danish Crown Prince Frederik a few years ago was married to his beautiful wife Anne from Australia.
Thorvaldsen was the no one sculpturer of some of the most beautiful marble statues in the world. In this church you can see all the 12 apostles as well, and some of these are showed on the nest picture.
Greetings, Mogens.

Well done, Mogens! It's indeed famous: I once heard a professor of theology use it as an important example of a theological viewpoint. Greetings, Marilyn

Hi Marilyn!
Thank you for visiting my pictures again and found this "marble" of sculpture.
We elderly Danes are a bit proud of our fellow countryman Berthel Thorvaldsen.
He lived for many years 1797-1838 in Rome - the mecca for artists at his time - where also the other famous Dane, Hans Christian Andersen stayed for some time.
In Copenhagen - next to the governmment building Christiansborg Castle - we have 'his' museum: Thorvaldsens Museum Really worth a visit and you can even pay respect to him by visiting his last resting place here.
He was mooved to here from his first resting place in the Copenhagen Cathedral in 1844.
Greetings, Mogens.

Thanks, Mogens, for the additional information and for the link to that very well-designed museum web page. It's been too long since I've visited Denmark--31 years, I guess!
Greetings, Marilyn
