Boardwalk Reflections

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

This boardwalk is in a nature reserve, surprisingly close to the centre of Batemans Bay, NSW and it is a favourite spot for us when we visit Batemans Bay. We rarely see more than two or three other visitors there, so it is a very peaceful and quiet location. The boardwalk serves as a bridge across the lake and allows discreet observation of its interesting bird life.

I quite like this capture. I steadied the camera on the timber railing and used a slow exposure (1/40 sec) to try and sharpen the reflections. It is a pity about the plasic bottle. I thought about 'Photoshopping' it out but in the end I forgot to do that and so the bottle remains as a stark reminder of how thoughtlessly we sometimes treat sensitive environments.
