So i guess the Amero and the North American Union are a figment of my imagination? Get a life. Repent the end is closer than you think!
Yup, last time I checked, the US, Mexico and Canada were still separate countries. And the fences that divide the countries are getting stronger. Rest easy, any talk of unification is just speculation by a bunch of economists and there are too maby security, political and culteral reasons why it will NEVER happen. Patiotism is very strong in the US. But I still don't understand your fear. Even if there was unificatioo, would it really be the end of the world? Nobody died when Europe unified. They are still separate countries, they just share one currency.
Yeeaaah, I think 99.8% of American citizens would vehemently oppose such a measure. Along with 98.1% of Canadians and 81% of Mexicans. That ain't happenin anytime soon.
I do think it's cool though that travel (at least up until now) between those three countries has been relatively easy.
I was here on Monday but on the QC side. The border cairn looks like it has a clean now and there are security cameras above the cairn and the closed off crossing itself. Google Street View approached from the QC side and you can see a construction crew on the NY side. The NY side has new paving now.
That's interesting - Which side of the border were the cameras mounted?
I was there last year, and I met the guy who lives in the former canadian border station. Here's what it looked like in 1953, looking south into the US: http://www.flickr.com/photos/36513215@N08/4452727725/
The cameras above the cairn that were on the US side . As I left NB along rang Roxham I noticed a camera on a wooden pole aimed at the border itself which probably captured me....I took some other photos at other crossings that day that are now closed.
I would never have recognized that location from the 1953 Flick photo. I believe there are homes in the background on the NY side now
