‘Sanjeong Hosu’ (Lake Sanjeong) is located in the central inland. The name of ‘Sanjeong’ means “a well in the forest”.
The lake is surrounded by high mountains all around. When the mountain peaks cast their shadow onto the lake,
it seems like a piece of landscape painting.
There are ‘Jain Temple’ and ‘Deungryong Waterfall’ and also ‘Biseon Waterfall’ nearby.
It also has artists’ sculptures displayed around it.
In the back of the lake, there is “Mt. Myeongseong” with a legend that King ‘Gungye’ who ruled this place in old days wailed
at the foot of the mountain for the grief he had for his country’s ruination, and it filled the mountains and streams all around.
Around the peak of this mountain, there is a silver grass field of 100,000 pyeong(330,578m²) having a gentle slope.
And in October, it holds a silver grass festival showing the silvery landscape of the silver grass annually.
