A YSL for this lovely shot Peter ~ This was restored at Didcot I think ~ all the best ~ nick
Thank you for your appreciation, and the awards. They are much appreciated. You are right, this was restored at Didcot, and an internet search for steam railmotor #92 will turn up a whole host of stuff.
In all honesty I found this difficult to photograph in a meaningful way, since the power bogie and chimney is at the lower end of the gradient, so your generous awards make my efforts seem worthwhile.
Hi Dušan Le,
Thank you for your visit, and the awards, they are much appreciated.
This is actually steam powered. It is an early attempt to make a train for branch line duties, where a separate locomotive is not really necessary. The idea never became popular until diesel engines became viable.
Amazing shot Peter. Like+Fav.
I am happy you have enjoyed this resurrected museum piece, and thank you for the awards. They are much appreciated.
It is a very unusual preservation item, the history of which Nick has mentioned above.
However, I think it sits well in our Welsh countryside!
