I took this picture of the canyon of the Colorado looking south-east. Only a few meters away I took this looking southwest. The overlook offers breathtaking views!
Beautiful shot, Marilyn. I prefer this one over the other one because it shows the warm browns and little bits of green here and there. Also, it captures how really vast the area is. Until you actually visit the area, it is hard for someone to fathom how BIG and MAGNIFICANT the rocks and canyons really are! You have captured this beautifully!
Hi Marilyn, thank you for sharing the best pics of your trip.It was like to travel with you just in time(we were your shadows).Greetings,Daniela
Very good composition, Marilyn, including the canyon stretching away to infinity, and the small boulders and grass as a really nice foreground. Ryan
Thank you, DeEtte, Daniella, and Ryan.
DeEtte, you appreciate the vastness of the area so I particularly appreciate your comment.
Daniela, I wish you could have been in our group actually and not just virtually. You would have loved it!
And Ryan, I smiled at the "small boulders." You're right of course, but in a more "finite" context they might seem pretty big!
Hello Marilyn. Thanks for sharing this panoramic view. Greetings.
Just beautiful! ")
Thank you, Pepe and Wallace. This viewpoint certainly gives a feeling of vast space, doesn't it? Greetings, Marilyn
hi marilyn! that's a view of "monument basin" (not to be confused with monument valley). i have a couple b/w shots of it from along the white rim road here and here.
it seems most all of my canyonlands n.p. shots are b/w versions. i need to get around to uploading some more color for that area! :) cheers, brian
Thanks, Brian, for the links. You have an excellent set of shots, and I look forward to seeing more of your color ones. Cheers, Marilyn
Delightfull horizon view...
Thanks, Alex, for taking time to visit and comment. The land here gives great, distant views!
Great view. Fantastic! Greetings Michael
A fantastic place, and not too crowded with visitors! Thanks for your comment. Marilyn
