Wow, Patty: Your two owl photos are great...this one I find especially good. I am jealous....I keep looking for owls and never find them....did you know that these were there?

I get to be the first to like this photo and the other one too!!!!!

Cheers, Cathy

Thank you, Cathy. Yes, I did know they were there, and went specifically to find them. I would never have seen them, however, without the help of a regular dog-walker in the bush. They're attracting a lot of attention around here, drawing photographers from as far as Toronto. I'm glad you like this one.

Thank you, Els. Yes, he is wild and was born in January. He's been attracting quite the attention in our community. I'm glad you like this one!

Hello dear Patty, I'm astonished that you could photograph him so clear and well drawn in the twilight. It's surely a very great luck to do this shot. I like it much!

Cheers, Klaus

Patty Arsenault on July 23, 2013

Thank you, Klaus. It was a very lucky shot. He was a very cooperative model for me, watching my every move and not flying away. I'm glad you like it!

What a lovely portrait of this owl, Patty! It looks so cute and fluffy! How close did you get and aren't they very shy? I like it a lot! Cheers from Germany, Anne

Patty Arsenault on February 8, 2014

Thank you, Anne. I think this owl thought he was hidden. He watched me, but did not move. He and his sibling and parents had many visits from people in the area, so I think he was getting used to humans looking for him.

I'm not a good judge of distance, but I would guess I was about 6 meters (20 ft)away.

I'm glad you like this photo!

Warm regards from Canada,
