Wallasey tram car 78 was taken out of service in 1933. It was then used a chicken shed in North Wales until rescued by the Merseyside Tramway Preservation Society and restored to its former glory. It re-entered passenger service in 2002. The transport museum has several other restored heritage trams and 2 purpose built Hong Kong cars which were built to a 1947 design.
