Colourful Cossack

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

An HDR image; compiled using five seperate exposures at one EV apart. The sun had just set over this scene leaving an orangey hue over the high tide that was covering the Cossack flood plain. I love the way that the branches protrude from the water giving the illusion of depth when in reality the water is quite shallow.

Hi Steve,

Time is one thing that I do have available to me after work.... no chores to do when you're in a camp :)

I'm fairly well set-up in my room (computer-wise), so can play-around with stuff like this.

This was quite a high contrast shot so benefited greatly from the adjustments.

Cheers Steve.

G'day Lex,

I took this shot(s) after our evening walk, the sky looked pretty good and it's not often that you see the plain covered in water.

Still playing-around with this HDR lark, getting some interesting outcomes though :)

All the best. Steve.

Many thanks Peter, You're most kind :)

Hope it's warmed-up a bit where you are.

Cheers Steve.

Hi Marion,

I have this one currently set as my desktop at work. The guys don't believe me when I say where I took it as the area can be quite bland when there is no water on the flats. It's amazing what a bit of O2 and a sunset can achieve. :)

Cheers. Steve
