I did some research on the name and, apparently, it is all to do with it's call. It makes a sound like 'kill-dee' :)

Thank-you Taraven, I have seldom heard these birds, I shall listen more closely, we had a pair lay eggs on our stone driveway many years ago, so I put some orange safety cones around the eggs, one of the birds would feign a broken wing and try to lead us away from the eggs

Hey!! Bet they're the only birds to have their own contraflow around their nest, LOL Birds aren't stupid. We saw a Raven feign a broken wing just 2 weeks ago. Have no idea where it's nest was but it was determined to lead us away from something...nest or no. :)
