A masterpiece. Five ✰✰✰✰✰ Best regards from Argentina

This makes my comment on this one seem quite silly. What a beauty!

WOW, Draken, 5 whole star?! Awesome! Thank you, pal.

hahahaha, Jeroen, I hear ya! It was two very different scenarios - that is for sure.

Like Javerburg, I thought blue herons were ugly birds until I saw some of your pictures. This one is a true beauty!

Kevin Childress on May 4, 2013

That's quite a compliment, kenfowkes, and is much appreciated. The blue heron is about the only big bird I can get photos of around where I live ... you'll probably see more in the future! :)

Is this also a heron? Perhaps not blue...

Erik van den Ham on May 6, 2013

Perhaps not the most beloved bird from the neighbourhood. But you sure took a great picture of it. The tree it's in must be Taxodium judging by it's leaves. Super duper shot! Like!

Cheers, Erik

Phantastic shot! YSL with a little bit of enviousness ;-)

Draken, yep - this is also a Great Blue Heron, not to be confused with the Little Blue Heron that I discovered during a day later.

Thanks a bunch, Erik. The bird was very kind to stand still! Correct about the tree - one that I typically just refer to as a cypress.

Hello, richt.oldi and Patty. I'm very happy that you like this one!
