Excellent picture Ian. LIKE! Greetings Berend
It was fortunate that the barge was there when we flew over, Berend, for it gives a focal point of interest. I did appreciate the curves of the old shore line and of the estuary, for from the ground you don't really appreciate either.
I wasn't aware of a barge landing at Wanggoolba Creek. I learned something new.
Marvelous view dear Ian, you have uploaded beautiful series of new images in your gallery, like for them all and some of them earned YS....BEST WISHES, Ahmet.
p.s.If we have chanses we will meet in Istanbul.....
I need some YS and likes for my images added as best, if you have time give some, especially for images of Sultan Ahmet mosque
If it's the vehicle barge from the mainland I've been on it many years ago.Interesting from the air. Cheers Brian.
I knew of Hook Point, Kingfisher Bay and Moon Point vehicular ferries. They must take lots of people on that poor island...
Dear friend, fantastic view, great image, it's a real Ian Stehbens-photo! Goes to my favourites, thanks a lot!
Yes indeed, and I am not sure how well regulated it is. It certainly is a fragile environment, but most visitors seem to be confined to the ocean beach and its vicinity and there there is quite a degree of good management. I was not aware of very much vandalism or damage during my single visit to the island.. far less than at Rainbow Beach and Inskip Point!
Again your praise feels like a great honour. Thank you for your appreciation of our special landscapes.
Fraser Island is so special that it is a UNESCO World Heritage treasure, and being in my local area I am so proud of it. I have only been on the island once (by deliberate choice), but I know it very well through maps, geomorhpological studies and aerial observations.
Fraser Island to me is a bit like the Engadin to you! Precious.
