Sabine, Is the brickwork in the tower newer than the stonework in the wall? Was the tower rebuilt at some time?

Hallo Tony! This small town was heavily destroyed during World War II, I think this tower was also really damaged and reconstructed the last years.
Greetings, Sabine

Guter Schnappschuss, Sabine, Danke.
@ Tony,
The wall has been in deed reconstructed. The head of the wall eroded, grass and bushes where growing on it, but not as a result of the WWII. Sabine is right; the crown of the tower has not been there before. If you take a closer look you will see that the mortar of the first 2/3 is more brownish. That is the original one, which has been at my school time so at ~2m height. The upper 1/3 with the grey mortar is new rebuild. Here I walked often as schoolboy, because the last building on the right hand side (the white one where the three persons are) was the school-kid’s library.
