Perhaps we should upload some more, showing that the Snake River Plain is anything but boring. Then, of course, there are many lichens on the Challis Volcanics which are often already formed into interesting shapes regardless of what does or does not grow on them.
I like how you captured all the suble variations of green in this image. Yes, the orange lichens set them off as a nice contrast, but if there weren't all those subtle greens to begin with the Orange would not mean as much. Those greens extend all the way to the mountains with virtually no atmospheric haze. Very well done!
