Hello George, on this photo was there a dentist a bit further up on the left? I can remember my mother taking me to one in the early 60s, i also remember holding on to the door screaming "i aint going in" mom won, we went in, and it was`nt good i can tell you. on the walk home i remember Waine house was being constructed.

I don't remember a dentist in that section of the high street, and do not have any photo's of one. But things change so much, I look at photo's and see changes that I have forgotten about. Can you remember all the fruit shops there used to be. At least three Holmes shops in Brownhills I only have a photo of one. And there was at least one at Chasetowm.

There were at least three Holmes vegetable shops in Brownhills High Street Known as Top Holmes, Middle Holmes and Bottom Holmes.

I remember watching that from my bedroom window (box room) roughly where the CCTV is now at number 7 Church road (now carpark)

Fishmongers was Sault if I remember correctly and they also ran the chipshop. Was also a shop along there that sold dinky toys. There was an opening half-way up and there was a West Indian Barber (could been another nationality i was young and fascinated by him) who was a very pleasant and friendly gentleman. Of course it upset Roberts Barbers on my road me being sent there by my step dad
