That purple band is known as the belt of Venus and can go all the way around the horizon in the moments before sunrise or after sunset. The dark blue under the purple is the shadow of the earth itself on the atmosphere. Well done!

Thank you. I am familiar with these colors at dawn, but I didn't know the blue under the purple was the Earth's shadow. That is very interesting to me.
