Hello Nick, you have a perfect lookout. Makes the angle in this photo very special and the shadow on the wet green weed(?) is fantastic. One of the very best in your bird series. YSL and greetings from The Netherlands, Jan

Traveling-Crow ~ Hello Jan and yes it is green weed as this area is tidal and the water is low in this shot ~ Thanks a lot for the YSL and many more thanks for your generous comments ~ Best wishes to you in the Netherlands ~ nick

Hi Nick,

I must say that I think this is one of your best bird shots. The inclusion of the very black shadow really makes the picture for me. Excellent picture, which I really like

Best Wishes Peter

Dear Nick, Iam with others in their comments, this is absolutely one of the best in the bird series...the shadow is such a plus in capturing this lovely shot!! can't tell if that;s over "wetlands" or maybe shallow water,? at any rate, it is a lovely work with that camera!! a YSL for certain!!

my warm wishes to you Nick! ~~Sarah~~

Nick Weall on July 23, 2013

Sarah O It is flying over the seabed as the tide is out. The shot is taken from my balcony and when the tide is in I could jump straight into the water from the balcony but seeing as it is thirteen floors up, I would end up stuck in the mud below the water :)) Thanks for the lovely comments and YSL ~ Glad you like the shadow too ~ flying hugs ~ nick
