So Glen Ridge had phone call boxes huh... Most towns just had the break glass, open door, pull lever types; not ones with phones.. The major cities had phones to better communicate with police or fire personal due to city's larger more complex size..

Most towns have been taking these down because of not only the maintenance costs, but people like to make prank calls with these. The pull down ones are still used in Little Falls and Bloomfield. I think there was one on my street because of a school but it was taken years ago.
