Canal boats in Amsterdam

Annually about 3 million visitors embark on the canal boats .It is one of the most visited attractions in the Netherlands.

The first tour in the history of the canals took place in 1621, when Queen Elizabeth Stuart in the city was welcomed in a parade of festively decorated boats, welcomed by the Amsterdammers on bridges and quays. Famous guests such as Winston Churchill, the Beatles and Nelson Mandela made a trip on a canal in Amsterdam. The Dutch football team was honored in 2010 with a tour boat. The welcome of famous visitors on a trip through the Amsterdam canals is a tradition that to this day is maintained.
