The aroma from this smokehouse is so appetizing.
This area of the town was traditionally the home of many fisherfolk. Lots of activity related to fishing occured here in the houses. Mussels were skeined for baiting the Long lines, nets were repaired and hung out to dry. Almost every house had a storage area for crabpots. The fishy smell on hot summer days was none too pleasant. In the winter, it was a different smell, from the smoke of a hundred Coal fires.
