Nice building ! GG

Yes, Guiseppe, it's very interesting, quite striking from the water. It has been written up in many magazines. The architects are Helliwell and Smith of Blue Sky Architecture. The curved roof and curved shape of the building seem to be their signature style.

Hello Nawitka, thanks for information: they have that house on their home-page! GG

(PS: there are architects in Austria: Coop Himmelblau )

Nawitka on April 2, 2008

Thanks for the information guiseppe; that is interesting! I'm quite sure these architects know of the Coop Himmelblau, it seems too much of a coindicidence.

Hello Nawitka, (the Coop Himmelblau I mentioned, because Himmel = sky and blau = blue, seems to be the same name, but I think, they are very different people)

But much more interesting, I feel, is the existence of a new building-tecnoloy, basing on the very old dowel- tecnology, for building wooden houses: Hav a look! GG

We sailed by again a few days ago, almost exactly a year later. It is still for sale, BTW, only $2.6 Million CDN. The view alone is worth every penny.

Nice to see this house again and to hear from you, that you are sailing again, Nawitka, best regards, Guiseppe

As of May 25, 2009 the home is still for sale. I went by it just the other day. The home is actually further South then its placement on the map above. You'll see a small inlet south with two floating objects. The home is about 100 meters north of those. The two objects are a dock and ramp that used to serve a grocery/food joint 25 years ago. Now it's private.

Thank you John McAlpine; I see the cove, and I've updated my position. I think we were further offshore than my marker, but the point is the house, not where exactly I was. Thanks for your help. Sure wish I had a spare $2 million :)
