And my dear Eva,

It is very special to receive another message from you, and to know that you have seen the new photos. I am back at home and very tired at the moment, but tonight I hope to try to catch up on Panoramio. First, I must reply to those who have sent me messages, and then I want to see all the new photos that all our friends have uploaded this last week or so.

As I walked beside the Yarra in Melbourne there was music that came floating across from a restaurant on the other bank, and I thought of the night music that floats across the Dnepr, especially in summer!

I have missed our conversations lately, too.

Whether the appreciation and affirmation comes from Melbourne or Kyiv, I am equally delighted.

Excellent night shots Ian!! I like these atmospheric shots . Greeting Luud

Thanks Luud. I am quite interested, fascinated would be more accurate, in the way you work with light and atmosphere. I think I have commented on this previously. (Some of the classical traditions of Chinese and Japanese art have some similar elements to your fine work.)

As I am aware of our very strong light here in Australia (southern hemisphere), I am seeing differences which I think are important and even defining.

I have been going through your work quite regularly, and simply enjoying it, but also seeking to understand what it is that is making your work so special and appealing to me. Thankyou for assembling the "most viewed" card of your work for that helps me to reflect on your work, too.

So I am glad you have expressed appreciation of the Melbourne night images. The night darkness is the converse of your white backgrounds: both dispense with pictorial background.

Thanks for making me think..

Sincerely, Ian

Beautiful capture, with marvellous reflections. Congratulations of Antonio.

Night photography keeps surprising me for the darkness allows for only the subject to make up the image, and all other distractions are lost. I am pleased that you like this image, Antonio. How I dream of spending time in Barcelona and Madrid expressly to create night photos.
